Benny von Bermel is a stunning 5 month old red and black German Shepherd. His foster mommy says he’s the ‘real deal’ – gorgeous shepherd looks, very smart, and as sweet as they come! This magnificent pup is thought to be an expensive breeder dog, given his striking coat and sweet temperament. Benny ended up at an animal shelter after being hit by a car. Westside got a call that Benny needed help; he had surgery and is already almost completely healed! He is a spectacular dog! One look into his soulful brown eyes, and you know right away that he is ‘connecting’ with you. Benny will be at your side and look to you for guidance, as well as be an easy companion to the rest of your pack. As with any smart shepherd, he quickly learned where to ‘do his business’ and knows when it’s time to settle down for a good night’s sleep at his foster home. Although he prefers to be with his people or fur siblings 100% of the time, he’s learning that he can chill on his own in a quiet place for a few hours while mom runs to the store to buy him treats. Speaking of treats, he will sit on command while he very gently accepts treats from your hand! Although he can sometimes be a ‘mouthy’ puppy (after all, he’s only 5 months old – so perhaps no very small kids for him!), he is responding very well to correction and clearly learned the word ‘no’…. a firm but gentle correction is all it takes to get this guy’s attention. Benny is ready to go to his furrever home to grow and learn, and will be your devoted companion for many, many years to come. (No cats please)
